Day 80 – Wallasey and New Brighton

Today was a wonderful day.  Slept in later than the others. The bed here is so comfortable I had a wonderful sleep.  Had a good breakfast and then Barbara and I sat and started looking at family history.  Happily a little while later her son Ian stopped by with his wife Tessa.  I think after our discussion we will have a great visit from them in the next year.  Lovely folks. Really hoping they will come along over.

We went down to a pub for Sunday lunch/dinner which was very nice. Then took a little tour around Wallasey and New Brighton. Saw the Laughland home, the Church, the Black Pearl, – see pictures, and we went down to the sea.

The Black Pearl is very fun.  Some fellows went down by the sea and collected driftwood and made a ship model of the Black Pearl from the Johnny Depp movies.  The first one they made some teenagers torched.  The second one they made was swept out to sea in a storm. I guess now they are on number three or four. pictures will show you how big it is. Great fun really.

Afterwards we walked to Vale Park which has a band stand and a lovely view of the Irish Sea. . We had a cup of coffee/tea and a sweet. It was very nice there.

When we returned Barbara and I went back to working on family history. I learned a great deal from her and have some new information to put into my books and family tree.  Found out about more Laughland cousins we have that I did not know about. Lots of exciting information.

We had a potluck kind of dinner so all are full and content and now sitting here watching War Horse. I want to download the pictures now and attach them. DSCN2962 DSCN2963 DSCN2966 DSCN2967 DSCN2968 DSCN2969 DSCN2970 DSCN2971 DSCN2973 DSCN2976 DSCN2978 DSCN2979 DSCN2980 DSCN2981 DSCN2982
